Every year we offer free genetics to ACMPR, Hunters, and Test Growers. Here is the basic breakdown of how this works: In November of the current grow year, Freestone releases its list of Breeding Projects that were bred that year. Not everything on that list is available depending on quantity of seeds collected. These are typically non-feminised seeds, but cuttings may also be gifted in some instances Most of our genetics are created for outdoors, making our need for indoor growers considerably lower. ACMPR Everything in our Library can be available to these patients. List is available with proof of license. Hunters Anything seen in our Breeding Projects is available but we prefer they work one selection at a time. Test-Growers Eligible for 1-3 selections of the most recent Breeding Projects, typically F1 seeds. All recipients are required to employ a concise Grow Log(we provide) including supporting photos. Failure to comply will disqualitfy from any future donations. Packaging and Shipping fees may apply. We accept donations which enable us make purchases that effectively expand our genetics library and offer the very best to You. Currently seeking outdoor test-growers from Central and Near North Ontario for 2023.

(non-feminised seeds) - KUSHES -
2022 was the Year of KUSHES for Freestone Genetics. Our objective was to take some timeless classics and cross them with other classics for vigor and some new kushy outdoor cultivars. The God Bud crosses are the first indoor strains we have created.
Taking advantage of some existing powerhouse Canadian genetics from British Columbia breeders, we are excited to have these new selections! Every year we look for qualified individuals to grow or hunt our genetics!! INTERESTED IN BEING A HUNTER/TEST-GROWER?
2021 Freestone Cultivars
(non-feminised seeds) - SATIVAS -
2021 was the Year of Sativas for Freestone Genetics. Our primary goal was to cross a variety of elite outdoor sativa cultivars that we had been holding tightly for some time. With the ever shrinking landrace and original cannabis seed market, we took the time to create some very special sativa crosses to ensure our bank maintains these gems.
Every year we look for qualified individuals to grow or hunt our genetics!! INTERESTED IN BEING A HUNTER/TEST-GROWER? CHEMON-LIME
Type: Indica Hybrid Lineage: (Alien OG x Sour Dubble) x Chemdog Sativa / Indica: 50-60% Indica Flowering indoors: 8-9 weeks Flowering outdoors: Finishes mid October in Southern Ontario Resistance: Excellent cold and wet weather resistance Structure: Medium 5-6' tall self-supporting evergreen shape, medium-size dense stacked buds Bouquet: Woody forest scent with slight sour citrus and cedar flavour THC: ~19-21% Yield: Medium-large outdoor
Originating from a hybrid of Chemdog x (Alien OG x Sour Dub), Chemon-Lime was built for wet northern outdoor climates. Stress tested thru repeated cycles of +10C/-3C in the extremely wet 2021 Ontario fall weather, this foul weather champ took it all in stride, exhibiting zero signs or Botrytis or White Powder Mildew. CAKER
Type: Indica Hybrid Lineage: Wedding Cake x Mendo Breath II Sativa / Indica: 60% Indica Flowering indoors: 8-9 weeks Flowering outdoors: ends mid October in Southern Ontario Resistance: Cold and wet weather hearty against mildew and mold Structure: Medium height 6-7' bush, medium-size dense stacked buds Bouquet: Sweet bakery and mixed fuel aromas with earthy, gassy cherry, vanilla cake flavours THC: ~18-25% Yield: Medium outdoor Our Caker strain came to us completely by chance and was never expected to ever crack our line-up. We came upon this strain thru some excellent craft cannabis from British Columbia in 2018. This flavor powerhouse has serious California lineage - Wedding Cake (Triangle Mints #23) x Mendobreath (Cherry Pie Kush x Mendo Montage). A single seed was collected from the purchased flower, and produced a very unique and robust mother (pics below), that was 100% sun-grown to finish in Southern Ontario. Over 300 clones were taken from her in spring of 2021. She has been preserved thru clone, reversal, and cross breeding with our two best outdoor males, Bush Jam and Huron Haze.

Caker HURON HAZE
Type: Sativa Hybrid Lineage: (Skunk1 x Nepalese Highland) X (Proprietary Highland Sativa) Sativa / Indica: 90%+ Sativa Flowering indoors: 8-9 weeks Flowering outdoors: Begins late July, ends late September Structure: Phenotype I = Medium Sativa, Phenotype II = Med to Tall needing no support Bouquet: Sweet cherry/grape and mothball scents, sour berry and fruit flavors THC: ~19-23% Yield: High Our flagship sativa Huron Haze, is just months from first release. We have spent the past several years resurrecting a strain that has skunk origins from 1990 and is bred for the Canadian environment. All parental lineage was climatized in the fertile farmland of Huron County bordering Lake Huron, hence its name. This nearly pure sativa finishes flowering in late September and contains no Haze, despite its name, which is more a moniker of the cool and often damp climate it was created for. A medium to large plant that thrives in cooler climates, adverse conditions and finishes late September. Freestone's Proprietary Sativa strain began with an original Skunk strain acquired in 1990 from a hydroponics grower in Hamilton Ontario. Around '98 the Skunk was crossed with a short Highland pure sativa strain(Nepalese) for vigor and a shorter plant structure. The Proprietary Sativa was then backcrossed until a homogenous medium self-supporting sativa structure was the primary phenotype by 2003. The strain was grown sporadically until 2018 when it was crossed with another similar Highland sativa strain with the desired growth period and structure we needed to turn out a unique cold-weather nearly pure sativa strain. This cross was a purple highland sativa also known for its pest resistance and ability to thrive in cold climates. On a rare instance the skunk phenotype shows itself. CHEMOTYPE
Three types based on cannabinoids. CBD Dominant | CBD:THC | THC Dominant GENOTYPE The genetic composition of the plant that defines its type of growth. PHENOTYPE The visible physical characteristics and traits of the plant. P1 & P2 refer to the two different male and female Parent Plants (P1 x P2 = F1) F1 is the First Fillial Generation produced by the Parent Plants (F1 x F1 = F2) S1 is a Self Pollinated female plant, where the plant produces a male flower. BX is backross to earlier generations of the same plant, either a parent or clone Phenoptypical Characteristics and Traits Colour, Height, Sex, Shape, Smell, Size, and Structure are the most common phenotypical variations. Effects of Environment on Plants Location of where a plant is grown compared to where it was native can sometimes make it seem that they are two completely different cultivars, even though they came from the same parents. Environmental differences can be drastic and affect things such as colour, flavour, resin production, size, and smell. This is a combination of variation between climates and the soil food web. |
